The past 8 years at Elduets Treasures of the World in Downtown DeLand have gone so quickly both from a merchants and a citizen’s standpoint. The original goal for Debby and I was to have a retail store and do a good business at an activity that we enjoyed, what we found was much more than a financial profit in having a store in DeLand, we found a community that anyone could only hope to find at least once in a lifetime, we found the close knit and helpful environment that only comes from people who care about the success and livelihood of their city. We received so much support and inspiration from Mayor Apgar, the City Commissioners, MainStreet Deland Association with Jack Becker and his great office staff, the MainStreet DeLand Board of Directors and fellow merchants. Although we are closing our store to pursue other interests, we have our hearts open to the future success of “The Great American Downtown” and encourage all to participate in the activities taking place each month in Downtown DeLand. Thank you DeLand for making the experience a true highlight of our business and personal lives.
